I own a few gimbals, some for action cameras, some small VLOGing gimbals for cell phones. and this one a far above all of them.
Packaging: this thing is the most secure packaging i have seen the molded case made specifically for this gimbal makes it impossible to break during transportation or shipping.
Included: It comes with the charger, a Tripod, wrist strap, and an adapter for cell phones.
Quality: the material is a solid aluminum for most all of the parts, there are many different adjustable balance points which allows for the perfect placement of any camera. The smoothness of the controls is amazing the video quality I get with just a cell phone is amazing.
Battery life: I charged it the first day i got it and have been using it on and off for over 2 weeks and it has yet to die. (the Videos I take are a few minutes each so i am sure the battery life wouldn’t seem as long if you use it for longer videos)
I would definitely recommend this for home videos and any other professional recording you would do it is as advertised!

The Zhiyun Crane M2 can work with multiple devices – it comes with a cell phone mount that works with my Apple iPhone XS. I mainly use it to do work with my Fujifilm cameras. There’s a quick release plate that lets you quickly remove the camera to change batteries and then put it right back without needing to rebalance the gimbal.
It has 4 modes: Pan Follow (PF), Follow (F), Lock (L), and Point Of View (POV). I mainly use Pan Follow for my work. POV is new and all axis’ are unlocked so you can use the full 360* of movement.
There’s also an option to connect to your phone which I don’t use much.
I owned the original Crane M when gimbals just started getting popular and the M2 is even more compact. Having the display to show battery life and go through menu options, such as setting motor strength is convenient.
They include a tripod in the package as well which is a nice bonus and it connects to the bottom of the gimbal.
This was a nice upgrade for me and I will have to spend some more time exploring using the POV mode for shots.
Zhiyun makes great products at a great price and if you’re going to use this for professional work it will get the job done.

Before I begin, I want to emphasize that this review is more a critique of non-proprietary gimbal systems than it is of the Zhiyun specifically. Prior to switching to a RX100 + Zhiyun M2 setup, I was using a GoPro with GoPro’s Karma Gimbal and I had totally taken for granted the sort of conveniences a proprietary all-in-one system can offer. So when I switched to my new setup, I was very disappointed to realize that the Gimbal itself has no means to actually control the camera unless you either plug it in (simply not an option without some weird right angle adapters or other jerry-rigged solution) or the bluetooth/wifi configuration. The latter works OK but is far from perfect. There is a delay on boot-up as the camera has to re-connect and of course the actual power of the camera can not be controlled by the Gimbal so you still have to turn it on manually. The battery life is way worse using this bluetooth remote crap too.
That aside, the Zhiyun M2 seems to be a good gimbal. It’s smooth, intuitive, and comes with a host of actually usable features that actually work (like the Selfie Mode, Pan Follow, POV, etc…). Battery life is also great.
However, I will be returning mine. This isn’t the solution I was looking for. I’d rather just use a plastic tripod or Sony’s vertical vlogging grip.

I just got my zhiyun crane m2 it is a very good product ilove it and I always zhiyun fans the Zhiyun Crane M2. This compact gimbal is very versatile and works with action cameras such as GoPro’s and the DJI Osmo Action. You can also use it with your smartphone and small mirrorless cameras that weigh less than 720g. and 6 modes of operation PF mode F mode LOCK mode POV mode VORTEX mode and GO mode. the zhiyun crane m2 is Easy to balance and Quick Setup for next Shooting. I have zhiyun crane v2 before. I bought this for my iPhone and sony a6500 it works very well but not perfect i gave it 90. 10 of the app because the app not perfect.I hope that zhiyun will modify some bugs in the next update.

Useless, useless, useless.
After infrequent used over several months – now fails to charge.
Discovered the problem on a nature shoot…what a waste of time.

Yes you can balance a canon m50 on it but when you add a microphone and other things you have a problem as its to much weight, forget DSLR cameras and big lenses.
Once gimbal is turned on the motors will try and make it balance if not they will make noise and vibrate
Small compact cameras non lens change or go pros work ok, easy to grip for vlogging and feels plastic

I am not a big fan of big gimbals. Since all my cameras are Sony Mirrorless, I wanted gimbals that can be light and still able to handle my A7III cameras. Got the Crane M2 to try it out.
I have been using it for about 2 weeks, I do have to the M2 gimbal is tiny, compare to other gimbals out there.
The M2 itself only weights about 1lb 2oz. This is including battery and everything!!! The compact size is amazing, and its able to support cell phones, action cameras and mirrorless cameras. On the zhiyun’s website only shows it supporting Sony A6xxx mirrorless cameras. Didn’t mention anything about A7 cameras, I have decided to give it a try. I used an A7III + 28mm 2.8 lens, weights roughly about 1.8lb. To my surprise the Crane M2 is able to handle its weight, and balanced with no problem at all. But I don’t think its able to handle any larger lenses. The size is making a big difference for me, I am able to travel with it, and just slip it into my carry on bags and etc. With no problems at all.
There are some things, I am limited with the M2. There is limited clearance space for the A7III camera, so I am not able to make certain movements. For example, I am not able to perform the inception shot. Since the back doesn’t have enough space for the A7III camera body. Which is not a huge deal, I just have to work around it. Also the gimbal is mostly made up of plastic parts, which results in the light weight. One thing I really wish they have on the M2 is the axis locks. Now-a-days most of the newer gimbals all have 3 axis locks on them. Which makes balancing the gimbal so much easier, and fast!!! But on unfortunately the Crane M2 doesn’t have the axis locks. Hoping Zhiyun will improve that on their next version.

I was skeptical about purchasing this but after a view YouTube videos I decided to get it and I do not regret it one bit. This has made a HUGE difference. The Sony Zv1 does not have good stabilization even with active mode. With this device the footage is much smoother with no shakiness. I can confirm I use the wide angle lens and the rode mic on top. You just have to get used to the set up procedure which can take a while to adjust but other than that it is great!
