Great little product. Could be stronger but does what it needs and cheap enough to replace should it break.

I usually look at reviews, but I got in a hurry and bought right away. Now I’m replacing this and I’ve had it for about 3 hours.
I think it will hold my phone fine, but it doesn’t give me confidence it will be sturdy. It’s all plastic, including the screw that lock the angle tilt into place. The lips that hold that phone are very shallow. It uses a ratchet system to lock the phone in (you squeeze the top/ bottom until it clicks tight onto the phone). This is probably acceptable, but because of the shallow lips, you definitely need to make sure it’s as tight as possible.
The screw that tightens the angle is really bad. It’s very small and not in the best spot to adjust. I have to crank it down hard to lock the holder. Then, it’s really hard to unlock it to move if you need to do fine adjustments. It also feels like you could snap the screw.
The cold shoe locks in fine, but it’s plastic too and yet another aspect that concerns me long term.
Overall, it will work, but it’s annoying, weak, and gives me no confidence that it won’t end up smashed into pieces the first time it’s bumped.

The media could not be loaded.
This product does not have a true angle adjustment. You will not be able to get the precise angle you need. These problems plus the screw not made for human fingers make this product useless and not worth the money. My advice is to spend a little extra for something better.
Details …
1. Preset angles?
There seems to be preset angles, but there is no way to tell when you are at one of theses presets. With these supposed presets, I have to options: almost straight up and down (photo 1) or; down 20 degrees (photo 2).
2. Impossible To Get Angle Desired:
To get the angle you need, you try to hold the phone and tighten screw. Once tight, you let go of and the phone drops forward. This means…
3. It Wobbles Like Crazy:
In the above scenario, the phone wobbles (see attached video). You unscrew and screw until you find the angle position that doesn’t wobble, which is why I think there are preset angles.
4. Tightening Screw Changes The Angle:
As you adjust the cheap plastic screw, the mount starts changing angles in the direction of screwing. This is impossible to control.
5. Screw Destroys Fingers:
The is cheap plastic that has no ergonomic design. Fingers are too big for the screw. The screw has sharp angles. This destroys your thumb and index finger as you’re constantly tightening and loosening to find the angle you need. Painful.
Summary:
I’ve tried to use this mount for six days. It is completely impractical for use as an adjustable smartphone clamp and mount. This product costs time and attention that is best used for my project, not on a product. It has little value and little utility. It is getting returned.

This cell phone holder is perfect.
It doesn’t cost much to learn to use it. To adjust the opening of this to your cell phone there is a small button which you have to keep it pressed for that.
So that your cell phone is in an upright position you have to turn the grip part of the support by making a little pressure on it.

This phone holder has some nice features, like being able to easily open up to about 4″. It uses some ratcheting system, unlike other phone holders that are spring loaded. It has a forward/backward pivot you can adjust. The vertical and horizontal orientation of the phone can be adjusted by twisting the holder. It has a cold shoe mount and a tripod mount. Here are some of the negatives I found. The plastic material does feel a bit cheap, and feels like a drop will cause some damage. The lips that hold the cell phone are not wide enough for my Samsung Galaxy S10 with a phone case. This would not be an issue if I removed my phone from the case, but that would be a big inconvenience. If you have a thin phone don’t use any phone case, this won’t be an issue for you. So if you don’t mind the cheap plastic feel of this phone holder, overall it’s not a bad product for it’s price and for it’s intended function.

I always like to test a mount on my rig by giving the whole assembly the shake test as the last thing you’d want is your expensive phone being trash by a untrustworthy phone mount. Sadly I was unconvinced with this one and opted to buy a metal mount with a vice like hold on my iPhone XR.

I bought this for the cold mount. When I put my phone and light in it, it wobbles and scares me! Its SO CHEAPLY MADE!!! There are so many other options out there that I could have bought and now I wish I would have! This plastic is just CHEAP!!! It is NOT worth $14!! Its worth about $5 and only because it will hold my phone.
The push button release will not push in to release my phone! I have to shimmy my phone out of it! I’m so afraid I’m going to break it anytime I touch it! I’m so gentle with my stuff too!!! I’ve had the same $7 selfie stick for 3 years now!
I’m so sorry I bought this thing! I’m definitely going to return it! I’d rather spend my $14 on something that is sturdy!!! Makes me so upset because I hate to return anything! What a hassle!!!

It works ok but my phone has fallen out twice despite squeezing the mechanism together as tight as possible. The actual best design for a phone holder is the 4 corners grip but nobody… NOBODY does that. I mean why not? I guess they would have to charge 1 million dollars for it because it would actually not be a piece of crap unlike each and every one of the phone holders they have on this website. Basically the plan here is make 10,000 cheap pieces of junk and hope that you buy 5 or 6 in the search for the one that actually works. They think I don’t know about their scam but I do, and I am telling everyone about it.

Easy to fit and holds a large phone firmly, no downside so far.

Our LGV20 has a Poetic case on it making it thick for a modern smartphone. Nevertheless, the Ulanzi ST-06 held the phone securely for a required hour+. Also critical is that it does not cover the back of the smartphone’s camera location. My only note is that the Ulanzi shoe is the smaller size and worked well with our table sized tripod. Our full sized tripod camera shoe slot was too large for for the Ulanzi shoe. Very pleased with the price and performance, great value.

I like this, and I like Ulanzi products. However there is some room to improve this product. The hinge on this isn’t the best and seems to flop forward at some angles. The grip is to small for a large phone with a case on (I have an Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and j need to take the case off for it to fit) and they fall out way to easily. Also the grip is not spring loaded so it doesn’t hold your phone as tight as other similar products.
Other than all that it fits on the usual tripod and will hold most phones. There are other versions that I’ve seen come bundled with tripods from other companies for a similar price. But if, like me, you’re an Ulanzi fan go for it but note the bad things I pointed out earlier.

Great phone holder for use with a tripod. Use over your camera for hands free recording or stable video platform. Not metal but pretty sturdy & great for the price.
