I bought this to give an adjustable support for a 360 camera. It’s light so easy to carry, but sturdy enough for this type of camera.
No issues so far, and as it was also supplied with a smart phone mount I can use it to support my phone as well if necessary.
A quick delivery too, and well packed.

Designed to hold either a smartphone in the clip supplied, or a GoPro camera with the compatible mount adaptor supplied. The twist locking mechanism for the telescoping pole is simple and effective and provides a good length. The separate screw-on tripod legs are solid and provide extra length overall should you need it as well as versatility of use. With the tripod legs attached and no extension, great for video calls etc with everything sitting on a table. Or if you sit on a slightly lower seat, place the whole thing on the floor with the pole extended – it’s pretty stable. As the attached ball-and-socket head on the pole has a standard 1/4 screw thread you could also mount smaller compact cameras. When used with a GoPro camera, a GoPro remote control is very useful to have also.

I needed a small light weight stand that would hold my smart phone when I went on hikes, camping trips, family gatherings, etc. I have a regular camera tripod which is sturdy and provides a good solid camera platform, but it is big and bulky. I came across this tripod/selfie stick and it had all the features I was looking for. When fully extended with the folding stand attached it is just under 4 feet long. Fully collapsed with the legs removed it is about 14 inches long. It has a ball mount on the end that allows the mounting platform to swivel 360 degrees in a horizontal plane and fold down 90 degrees in the vertical plane. I was mainly concerned with durability and the tripod is very sturdy and made out of strong (but light) aluminum. I wanted a sturdy stand to get good photos (no blurred photos from an unsteady stand) and this item includes a strong well made three leg stand that can be detached for storage. It comes with a typical expandable bracket that holds most smart phones (it was tight but I was able to fit my iPhone 6 plus with a thick Otter case). I gave it 4 stars only because I would have preferred a more sophisticated ball mount with maybe a short adjustment arm with a bubble gauge and some markings to get the camera relatively level instead of having to eyeball it, but for the price the ball mount it comes with does the job.

So this is a solid product. It feels solid. The base is metal and it won’t just fall over. One issue is that the segments twist lock in place. When I got it I was thinking it looked a little shorter then expected. I looked st the pics online and said “wow they sent a wrong unit or it’s different!” The pictures online showed more segments. After some twisting and an unusually hard pull whammo it completely extended! I read some people complaining it was shorter then stated and this is why. You need to extend and then twist and make sure any other segments aren’t locked down. Once that was done it was a breeze. It goes down unlocked and opened and then I twist it locked in place. One note. I decided to keep the base attached to the stick. This makes it a little long about 16-18 inches if you do this. May look like a weapon. For me it’s easier to tie to my backpack and well … if I need to hit a pickpocket I’m ready! I’m using this with an iPhone Max and it works. The holder is a little tight but seems fine. Better then other sticks. So far this is the best stick I’ve had and the best with a tripod

Ok where to begin?
The Smatree tripod/selfie stick is awesome. I wasn’t expecting much for the $, but lo and behold I’m shocked at the quality. I’ve got a couple of the el’cheapo selfie sticks that when extended bend like a fly-rod with any weight on the mount. This thing fully extended is rock-solid, perfectly straight. Twist locks on each section are positive and stay locked. The ball mount 1/4×20 thread is aluminum and feels solid. The detachable tri-leg short section is heavy duty aluminum with rubber tips on feet ends keep it from sliding. It also has a 1/4×20 threaded top of aluminum. The rubber handle section on selfie-stick portion is nice and grippy, doesn’t feel cheap seems to be well attached. This does have a wrist lanyard, but it is useless if you plan on using the tripod legs as a extension in your hand. I kind of wish they had coated the tripod legs in a rubber coating, as the aluminum is nice but slick if your hands are wet/dusty.
Specs:
Length of selfie stick portion collapsed is 12″, the tripod leg length collapsed is 7″. Diameter of legs extended is around 12″. Combined length collapsed is 19″. Tripod deployed with selfie stick collapsed total height 14″. Total height fully extended 38.5″ +/- .5″
Combined weight is right around 1.5 lbs. If you’re looking for ultralight, this isn’t for you. If you need a quality Tripod/Selfie stick with stability and adaptability BUY THIS NOW!!!

The pole feels very well made and is nice and sturdy, however the maximum length of 36″ is only achieved by using the tripod base folded up as an extension. You then have to hold the tripod legs which are smooth coated metal rather than the nice rubberised hand-grip. Also the wrist strap is then not usable as it’s 7 inches further up from where you’ll be holding on to. The screws on the tripod section are steel and suspect they’ll rust terribly if used in the sea (I got the pole for snorkelling), so I’m a bit disappointing that the actual usable pole is only 29″ for water use. Still a great quality item, but please update the listing to correctly reflect how you get 36″ out of it.

Got this to go with my Insta360 One – 360 Camera and was having issues with it at first due to the black knob on the side that loosens and tightens the tripod head. The issue – it was showing up in my 360 videos/photos since it was so close to the camera. But I figured out that if I just rotate it to the side just a little bit – like my picture shows – then it becomes invisible just like it’s supposed to be! Perfection from just a little adjustment. So I thought I’d share that in case anyone else has that issue.
Overall, I like the selfie stick and how you turn it to extend it and to lock it in. I love the tripod feet at the bottom. That part seems really well made and is really the reason I bought the whole setup. I wish that they made it so you could remove the tripod head and that there was just a 1/4 screw mount at the top. I really don’t need the tripod head – tho I like having the option for my gopro mount. It should definitely be removable. Then I would have had zero issues with it from the start!

I purchased the model without a remote control.
I use this item so much with my 360° camera, it’s perfect for my needs.
Very versatile due to the removable tripod base to use as a standalone or with the adjustable height extension pole. It all adjusts down to a pole a little over a foot long and is very easy to carry around.
The parts that need to be quality and heavy duty are, and the parts that perform the lighter actions are fit for purpose too.
Twist the pole sections to unlock and extend to your desired height and simply twist in the opposite direction to collapse.
Regarding comments about the tripod feet becoming loose… mine have been fine for 6 months or so having a little resistance when positioning the feet. I left it in my car for several days in cold weather and they became very loose. They still did the job so not a big problem to me but i have noticed the resistance returning when kept somewhere warm… like i say, not a major problem for me either way.
The item has a nice rubber comfort grip and a wrist strap when walking and carrying your camera between photo opportunities.
I would only use this item for small compact cameras, mobile phones, go-pros etc and cameras such as my small Samsung 360°.
Anything large would make it too top heavy in my humble opinion.
Really like the item and so glad i bought it, it’s been perfect, highly recommend.

Listing description state “Extendable Selfie Stick 36.6”. Well, unless Amazon sent me the wrong item, this statement on the listing is totally wrong. When fully extended, this stick goes to a max of 21″, and that’s all.
Also, listing pictures shows that the stick is made of some sturdy telescopic arms/parts. But mine only has a small inside stick (the one that extended to 21″), and totally looks and feels “weak” and not at all as displayed on the listing pictures. And yes, I was sure to double check this item correctly and haven’t found any other arms/sticks inside to extend it more. Only this single small stick as pictured.
Really disappointed. Returning this right away today.

I was put off by some reviews but I really wanted this. It is small when collapsed and when you extend it, it does stretch pretty high. Simply twist the poles to unlock and pull. Then twist the other way to lock. I can tell it’s not the most professionally built tripod in the world but I didn’t expect that anyway. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t any good because it is!! Some people have mentioned sturdiness and to be honest I can see that being a problem with a heavy camera and in stronger winds but for me I am using a Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal with iPhone 8 Plus and it takes the weight well. The legs of the tripod open wide. A bit wider would have solved the sturdiness thing but I personally haven’t had any problems myself. If you plan to go balancing this on an uneven surface on the edge of Mount Everest then that’s not intelligent at all and it’ll be time to say goodbye to your gear. You’d need a good strong sturdy tripod for rugged use and rocky surroundings but for general use on flatter surfaces you won’t have any issues at all. The tripod legs detach and can be used as a handle for holding your camera. Love this!
