Completely missing the ballhead which makes it totally useless for mounting a camera as there is no adjustability.

I love it I use it almost everyday very good quality and very sturdy

This is a good option to have when you need to change locations to take pictures or shoot video. I like it mainly because of the ease of use. It does not take much effort to move it around.
Like the advertisement states, its adjustable, tough and durable!
What I like about this desk mount is that it has a lot of flexibility. You can either use both pieces that comes with it or not. Both pieces come with an adjustable ball head.
You can actually use this device for dual purposes because you don’t have to use the extension arm. In fact, I’m currently using the one piece that clamps to the desk for my video shoot. However, I also plan to affix the magic arm when I’m trying to capture shots where my camera needs to be shooting directly at my desktop surface.
The screws are made from real metal, not plastic (which is a plus for me because I’ve purchased some of these devices in the past that were stripped in the socket if I turned the screw to hard).
I have a long enough cord on my webcam where it allows me the flexibility to plug it into my computer and also use this desk mount in just about anywhere in my studio. That means if I’m doing an interview where I don’t have to be sitting in front of my computer, I’m able to sit in a more comfortable spot.
I’d like to see a longer screw that comes with the magic arm because if you have a device that requires a little more strength to hold it, I feel like that extra tightness gives me more security than not. And what I mean by that is the screw that attaches to the magic arm, not the one that affixes to the camera, because I realize that if that screw were any larger, it may not fit standard cameras and other devices.
In fact, the main desk mount stand has a slightly larger screw than the magic arm. Therefore, I’d like a little more reinforcement for this piece. But, let’s say you will be using a device that’s about the size of a webcam, you’d probably be alright. I just think that anything heavier than an iPhone (which is heavy in its own right), over a period of time, it’s going to wear on that small sized screw.

I tried a cheaper gooseneck from another manufacturer and chucked it. Got the Smallrig – my son uses their gear for his Blackmagic 6K rig and it’s excellent gear.
I have my iPhone 14 Max Pro combined with their universal phone rig add on, and the two products work perfectly and are stable for using my iPhone as a webcam with the new Apple Continuity Camera option on Ventura and iOS 16.

Excellent arm. Small rig makes good stuff there’s just no doubt about it. I don’t think I’ve ever had a product from them that wasn’t first rate. The fit and finish on this arm and the build quality are both excellent.
The ball head in the wall being very small is smooth and sturdy. I would have no reservations about putting any of my equipment on this thing. And the clamp at the bottom is heavy duty.
They say the load carrying capacity on this is 10 kg and I believe it. There’s also an extension arm with a 2 kg capacity. Everything about this is very well-made and very sturdy. The arm also has an extension and it seems like it’s just built the exact same way a high-quality tripod leg is made.
Now the clamp on the bottom isn’t quick release and you can be in a position where you have to turn in a lot and that can be a little annoying but you can be assured that you’re getting a very secure fit.
Is a very versatile set up that allows you to place a camera and an off access light at the edge of a tableor whatever else you wanna throw on there. Another great addition to add to a photographers tool kit.

The DT-30 rig is well made and very stable. However, I exchanged it for another. The SmallRig DT-30 held my 1.2 pound Pico Genie 4.0 projector totally secure and stable. I really liked it. However, the horizontal arm is much moe limited in adjustability than some of the other desktop mounts. The horizontal arm is capable of being adjusted heightwise from 0″ to 24″ off the desktop. But that is it. One cannot clamp the horizontal arm onto the top third vertical section. The horizontal arm also has a fixed length of about 11 inches. Nothing shorter or longer is possible. There are some mount design with two secton horizontal arms that offer more flexibility. If you just need one horizontal arm of fixed length, this mount will hold your DSLR camera or projector safely and securely up to 2.2 lbs. It is very well made.

If you know what you are getting yourself into then this is perfect for you. I think this is perfect to mount a light for your unboxing or even a an iPhone. I would not try to hang my Sony Mirrorless on something like this. It can go pretty high up.

I actually use this as an overhead camera holder for a cooking show I do – it holds a mic or light as needed in addition to my overhead camera. Basically, there are a lot more uses for this thing than just a desk mount. Small Rig makes quality kit, and I own quite a lot of it.

SmallRig Camera Desktop Stand
This is stand + extension arm can be used for rigging your desktop webcam + external light source or in my use case easily attaching an iPhone (the iPhone mount is not part of this package). I use it for document scanning and it’s fantastic! There are two extension heights available for the main vertical arm and the horizontal arm allows for you to attach anything with a 1/4” screw base mount. The arms itself are metal but the locking collars and base mounts are all plastic. It is not cheap plastic but ABS plastic material type, however. This stand/mount is not meant for heavy devices. Webcams, LED lighting, and some point and shoot cams for vlogging is the best use cases.
Overall it is a fantastic product that is strong and sturdy. I’ve had no problems attaching a 1.9lb Samsung NX camera with lens on it. It’s easy to adjust height and comes with a carry bag too. Don’t over tighten since it has plastic mounts. Just enough to hold your items. The table mount is very solid metal but the bottom round secure mount is plastic so don’t over tighten. Overall I am very happy with how this stand/mount functions for my use cases and it’s a solid 5-star product overall.

Wasn’t sure if this would work for me at first but after getting one and using it for a while with a C Stand arm mounted to the top so I can hang a camera over my shoulder, it’s been a game changer. Also useful for attaching other accessories too like microphones, monitors, and shelves.
