You get what you pay for. Works but annoying that I have to disassemble the bottom each time I need to screw it on new camera. There’s probably an easier way to make this experience better.
Pyrate –
I found this to be a bit heavy, but does the job well.
It is perfect for lighter cameras on todays heavy payload gimbals. Adds enough of a rise and weight to help the gimbal adjust.
Jmo –
Works as described. I wish it was a little lighter. I bought some carbon fiber 15mm rods with them and it works great. Worth the money
Amazon Customer –
Solid Build. Height is greater than most Baseplates which gives good clearance between QR plates

Great but wish the wing screws were a bit bigger and made of metal . they feel like they could break

The way the screws are in is kind of onward. You need a screwdriver to be able to screw in your camera unless you take the bottom part out but then you risk losing one or all of the very small screws that hold the bottom part.

Spend the $20 and get a smallrig one. It will not hold up. The hex screws are soft metal and will strip. Recomend you get higher quality ones. The side ratchet rail tighteners stripped. If your going to be doing switch-outs often, then get a professional piece.

I’ve been looking at rail accessories a while now, and this is part of my first rail build. I’m extremely happy with this piece so far. You can buy a baseplate that is just one of the rail mounts and one baseplate; this is basically two of those put together. It makes a ridiculously solid baseplate with two rail mountings. However, you can also take it apart to use it as two baseplates or for other purposes in your rig.
I can’t really think of any downsides to this, especially for the price point. I could spend more to get a quick release version somewhere, but this is an amazing starter kit. I pretty much made this a permanent part of my camera cage, so it just slides on rails and tightens to mount.
