So it wasn’t that long ago that Neewer was one of the most well known budget video gear manufacturers where the actual quality of the gear was SUPER budget. Meaning most of their gear was pretty awful quality. However over the last couple years Neewer has been pumping out some honestly impressive products while maintaining their low cost. That was exactly the case with this shoulder rig.
Everything here is really top notch. Everything is metal except for the pad of course. Everything is solid with zero flex. There were no burrs to be found anywhere and all the movable parts slid around nice and smooth.
I only wish they went with a standard Arca Swiss quick release system. Other than that I really don’t have any complaints at all. Huge kudos to Neewer for starting to produce some really high quality gear. This shoulder mount provides a great starting base for you to continue to grow your rig since everything here is industry standard from the 15mm rods to all the 1/4 20 and 3/8 mounts.

Nice construction – screams “precision”. Good basis for a DSLR rig. Recommended

This is a huge upgrade over older models. Everything on here feels extremely well made, and perfectly machined to fit together. There’s no wobble, looseness, or anything weak feeling in it. This is a very well made piece of equipment.
I expected to have to spend 30 minutes putting it together, but I was happy to find that it was already almost entirely assembled in the box. I only had to put the handles on the front, and it was ready to go.
I attached a Manfrotto 577 adapter to fit my quick release plate, dropped my camera on, and the motion I got was so much more smooth than anything I could ever get free hand.
The adjustability is fantastic. From the added mounting points, the sliding rails, and the elevation adjustment for the camera, this is a must have tool for anyone trying to make good looking video.
Overall a fantastic tool.
Highly recommended.

I am one of those guys who believes that rigs and rig hardware are massively overpriced. I have been eye-balling a couple of other rig packages for a number of years. I was in the process of making my own out of individual parts and diy materials when I spotted this rig. I won’t lie…I wasn’t impressed by the previous generation of Neewer rigs and pieces of rig kit. I suspected, simply by the photos of this rig, that this was something entirely different and better. I was not let down when it arrived. I am so glad I made this purchase. I saved a lot of money, and all my standard hardware works flawlessly with it. The quality is absolutely there, and absolutely great. The riser works great and is easy to adjust, the handles are really nice, everything is finished super-nice and easy to manipulate and manage…and I love the laterally adjustable shoulder rest feature way more than I thought I would (I added an additional offset, so that when I need an offset, it’s offset twice — because I have a steep slope to the meat of my shoulder where it is flat). I’ve got a follow focus and a matte box on the way. My savings here went there and I am very happy to say I absolutely love each part that Neewer put together to make this rig. It’s fantastic and I nearly cannot spout enough praise about it. Value shoppers, this is just as good as anything more expensive out there. Stop looking around and give these guys your dough. I recommend the heck out of this.

Having had a few Neewer products I feel able to say their name is generally an assurance of quality, and this camera shoulder mount evinces just that quality. It required some assembly, but nothing that should tax anyone, it’s all pretty self-evident.
It is a solid, well-machined and precise device that will hold your camera rocksteady, with a plethora of options for fine tuning and positioning of your camera. It is almost infinitely adjustable, and everything is precise and rock-solid so you can be assured that any setup can be replicated again exactly. The build quality really is superb.
Are there any negative aspects to this wonderfully crafted device? Well there is a small bugbear, but only for left-handers – the shoulder pad s specifically shaped to be used on one’s right shoulder. This is because most people look through the viewfinder with their right eye – so It’s people with dominant left eye rather than left hand who are left out in the cold a little here.
That small snub to “lefties” aside, this is a superior camera cradle with quality material, design and construction, and worth every penny of the asking price.

For my Panasonic S1H rig!

This shoulder rig is rugged and built to last. I like the shoulder pad that is recessed so far back, all of the weight of the camera rig is forward. And although that isn’t balanced weight, it will minimize undesirable camera shake. You will fatigue faster with this rig but you can reconfigure it in ways that could allow you to balance it if you choose. The parts are adaptable and comparable to other standard rigging setups so mixing and matching gear with this to your liking is a breeze. Very good product and value for the price.

It’s a great shoulder rig, they just failed to send me the whole thing.

I first bought the Smallrig shoulder rig, but because of height of the base plate, I couldn’t put my lens on my camera lol. I would have had to buy another 60$ piece to make it fit. Then I saw the neewer version very similar, but with the base plate that I could adjust the height. I thought it was going to be fragile, but seriously, it’s not and I’m very happy with my choice. The only thing is that the shoulder pad is not very comfortable but you know, the professional shoulder pad are so much more pricey.

This is one of Neewer’s top product. It is very well priced plus good quality. The shoulder rig is easy to setup. Has levers on everything which makes it easy to perform adjustments. The shoulder pad is not too soft where it would not last but durable enough to have a long life. It is not heavy for its size. Appears to be made of light weight material but durable. Take a look at my pics for closeups.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review and photos of this product. I hope it has been helpful in providing you with more information.

The following is a review of the Neewer Universal Camera Shoulder Mount. It comes in a plain cardboard box together with the device including a quick release plate with both 1/4 and 3/8 threaded securing screws on the quick release plate – very thoughtful plus decent assembly/set up instructions although the basic set up is quite straight forward. Being made from aluminium alloy means its light but it is also quite sturdy in construction with assorted adjustments for just about everything from the shoulder pad to the handles. The base has assorted tripod mounting threads in both threads, so it’s versatile or rather, well designed but then Neewer equipment usually is anyway. Even the shoulder pad is threaded with both sized threads for mounting accessories on – rather a clever design feature. All the rods have plastic threaded end caps which you unscrew to get the assorted parts on or off – no chance of anything ‘sliding off’ here The securing levers need to be gently pulled out in order to get them to turn – they are of the spring loaded design – and they do work well. I am using it with my trusty Canon 7D and it supports it with no problems but having never used this type of support before I find it really well balanced once the initial setting up is done which, although I was not timing myself, took about ten or so minutes to do or rather to my personal satisfaction. Overall in use it works as it should and is comfortable once set up but most of all gives amazingly stable results but it’s down to the operator in this instance and so far my efforts are certainly looking good, if not better – they tell me…
