This is great. I’ve used many sliders and without spending the cash on motorised control, something like this is ideal. Cheap but strong. I went for the short 60cm version as when I used 100cm ones in the past they have always had some flex and wobble, even £1000 Kessler, so I’ve only ended up using half of the travel. Shorter is stronger on a single tripod and easier to carry

This slider is a great addition to my production film kit. It’s quiet and lightweight. I was able to use it for a documentary as a “dolly@ for b-cam shots. It was quiet enough that the sound awww not picked up in the nearby shotgun mic. It’s smooth and can sit still atop 2 light stands.

One suggestion if you buy it, make sure you have a way to add height to your camera. On the slider itself, it sits pretty low. Too low for my Cine lenses. Adding a video head or another type of head would be best.

I have this guy set up on 2 tripods, balanced and tightened where it needs to be, however, it still likes to wiggle which gives the whole slider ability kind of a worthless set up. But I tried putting some sandbags to hold one side down harder and it’s working smoother, but you still need a majorly steady hand to keep it from wiggling

Other then that it’s got great material, and all the moving pieces work pretty well!

Better off using two tripods for maximum stability and smoothness. Tried using one tripod in the middle holes and I found that the pads on the slider would hit the tripod halfway through tracking.

This non-motorized Neewer slider is surprisingly well designed and solidly constructed for a product so inexpensive. The legs are adjustable, allowing you to get a relatively stable footing on a variety of surfaces. The bearings allow for smooth movement of your camera. It is light enough to carry and easy to set up.

You’ll still need practice to get a good shot with this slider. Because it is neither computerized nor motorized, you are still moving the camera along the track. But with some skill, some practice and this slider, you should be able to get a decent shot.

If you are a professional, or interested in those incredible slo-mo product shots, this is not the slider for you. However, if you are on a budget, but want to check what you can do with a slider, this Neewer slider is an inexpensive place to start.

    UPDATE:

Super stoked to say that this has been easily fixed which is all one can expect really. So after desert sand gusts of unknown MPH this very reasonably priced item was easily disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated. Sadly the same can not be said for my $400 NiSi filter and filter holder but the old saying “you get what you pay for” isn’t always true these days. I’m sure sliders costing hundreds of dollars more are sealed against such problems but I would consider this a best buy for the perspective slider buyer.

    Pros:
    -can easily be cleaned
    -Smooth
-Storage bag is nice because it certainly won’t fit in most camera bags. I strap it to the back of my backpack and it would be nice to have some additional loops to secure it other than just the handles.

    Cons:
-The little feet are useless and fall off with a gentle breeze. I replaced them with long stainless bolts and wing nuts for a secure lock. Much better.
-The last time I used it there was a little sand blowing about and it seems to not be sealed very well because it’s no longer as smooth. I’m going to try and disassemble it and clean and will update if it’s repairable. [it was so though the seals are not the best it’s the only time i’ve had any problems with it:]
-I think the weight limit they give is a bit off. A bit of bending occurs when secured to a single tripod and using two is just a pain. I attached a 1″ aluminum tube to the bottom of it and that has made it much more stable and I use a 7″ arca plate so I can balance the camera (which is a heavy setup) to keep the carriage smooth.
    – The bag is pretty cheap and I don’t expect it to last long. The zipper is really poor quality and splits pretty easily. So far is self-repaired but I can’t see this lasting. [The bag defiantly shows signs of wear and tear, literally, but it’s still doing it’s job after some long hikes into some rough places
    – It’s heavy and I think I’ll need to purchase a shorter and lighter model but that’s not really the product’s/company’s fault given it was accurately listed and all that, just be aware it’s a bit heavy and make sure you can’t do with a shorter easier to transport model.

On a budget for a slider then this will get the job done for less than £60 it’s not bad.

80cm is more than enough for slider shots unless your going for big landscape shots.

Include is the slider, two allen keys, extra pair of what i assume are rubber leg inserts and a screw bolt didn’t need any of them as the slider comes fully built. Just unscrew the leg’s set check your alignment and your good to go.

Please note to get a pan shot while sliding you need a fluid/swivel head attachment which i highly recommended otherwise you will just be left to make sliding pan shots facing in the same direction a little movement in the slide can make the shot alot better.

Due to the the size of the slider placing it ontop of one tripod can make it turn over. I used my light stands which have ¼ screw attached both of them to the slider and it worked out okay.

Got some nice shots of Dolly Zoom’s and some excellent pan’s sliders do really add that cinematic precision effect.

Overall if you’re a content creator this is a must.

Bought a branded slider about 5 years ago, a third of the length no where near as smooth running for 4 times the cost. This is amazing value, seems very smooth running and even has tie off points for my motorized slider gear. Very pleased and at this price point you can’t go wrong.

If I had to do it again, I would get a motorized slider. I did get the shot I needed but it took a lot of practice and takes. The slider is a good quality and the motion was smooth once I got used to moving it. For the price, this slider is ok and it worked in the long run. If this is all your budget will allow, it will work and is decent quality.

The slider has made it so much easier to get smoother footage. It’s only as smooth as I make it, I will upgrade to a motorized slider at some point.

This one definitely gets the job done, it’s only as good as you are.

This is the first slider I’ve purchased, yer I already had confidence in Neweer as a brand having purchased other products from them.

The 60cm slider is solid (be aware you will require a ball head camera adaptor or similar to use!!!) really smooth and mounts well to a tripod. No dipping at the ends when using a Sony A7Sii and 24-70mm lens.

Bag is large enough to store other things in. I’ve recently included a ball head adaptor, tripod plate to use just for the slider and a bird’s-eye view adaptor.

Filmed several professional videos and the clients loved the sliding shots. Love the small built in legs too so can be used on surfaces without needing a tripod (or on the floor).

This first note is irrelevant to the product review but I just realized I missed my return window by ONE day… Now I’m even more upset that I own this. -_-

Problem number one (for my uses specifically):
    • I added my Manfrotto Fluid Head to this slider, if you do pro video you know having at LEAST the ability to pan while sliding is crucial. But the wheels attaching to the slide tracker itself are not very tight on there, so when added some weight, I was getting major leaning from the looseness—essentially my camera on the fluid head was either shifting from falling forward or falling backward, enough to me the footage unusable, even with high-end post stabilization.
    • So I’m using a Sony a7s ii, which is not a heavy camera, and even then (without the fluid head added) I can still notice the issue above, it’s just not noticeable because the camera isn’t being moved around while sliding.

I don’t mean to be too hard to this slider; This slider is good for the person who doesn’t need or want to pan/tilt while sliding. But if you do want a second axis of motion, I found personally that the wheels shifted too much on the track to be able to compensate for extra movement.

If the Sellers of this product read this review, I JUST missed my window to return this and would love to see if we can work something out because this isn’t the right fit for my production level. Thanks!
