This unit was well made, I was not able to use for purpose intended, it was a little bigger than I pictured it.

Very sturdy and folds down flat when not in use. Strong enough to gold just about anything you want.

Let me start off by saying that I have never used a wall mounted light stand before, so I can’t offer any comparison or contrast to other products. I will just give my opinion of the quality of this item.
Once you have mounted this stand to a wall in your studio, you can fold it up out of the way. To operate it, you loosen a clamp lever and then tilt it out from the wall. You can loosen another clamp and then extend the pole to make the stand longer. The stand pole can be pushed left and right to change the angle that it projects from the wall.
The stand is very heavy. It is solidly built and is all metal…except for the clamps. I’m not sure why you would go to so much trouble making everything out of heavy duty metal and then make the tightening components out of plastic.
At the end of the boom you can attach a standard light mount pin in three different positions: up, down, or straight out. It also comes with an all metal flex mount that can go in the end of the boom to extend it even further and to allow you to move the light to whatever position you like. The flex mount seems very sturdy. It takes a bit of force to bend it to the position that you want.
If you have the need for a light to be in relatively the same area all the time then this should make a great permanent mount. Time will tell how the clamps hold up.

Love the space saving aspect. The hardware is junk though. You’ll probably need better anchors for drywall or brick. Also I wish adjusting the position was easier to do while working. Lots of screws to turn to raise and extend it. Hard to do while wearing gloves.

I have mine anchored to a concrete wall and it can easily loft a 300W LED video light with a large bowens softbox. The support arm does a good job of keeping the arm at the angle you want to set. The only caveat I can think of is that you wouldn’t want to mount this to drywall without finding a stud. I’m not using the included gooseneck, but it looks perfect to hold a reflector on a tripod stand.

This is very good and stable. I’m so tired of the tripod …

I actually installed this on the side of my worktable where i do reviews. I had a large light on a rolling tripod setup but the space was minimal between the table and the back wall so i wanted to remove the tripod as i kept tripping over it. Anyway… This came assembled and all i had to do was screw it to the table. There is a large range of motion and it extends out quite a bit. It is definitely a wall mount as i toyed with the idea of attaching it to the surface of the table but there is a hinge mechanism and it wont stay vertical. No worries i attached it to the side of the table. It is not for lifting engines but handled my large light with enormous soft box with no trouble. The only nitpick is the hinge mechanism does not bend all the way to the wall it lands at around 30° or so angled off the wall.
