Emily Campbell –
Nice design.
Various threaded mount holes for various ways of using it.
Works very well for me with a normal size ipad.
The tablet cradle works well.
I can see the text clearly and the way the unit can fold up and store in its supplied soft case is good enough for when I need to take it to my other office location by car.
(I would not want to travel via train or plane with it though.
It would need a separate flight case for that.)
I fitted a hot shoe quick mount to the base and used another one for my camcorder to mount onto this.
(“Neewer Adapter & Quick Release Plate Professional Aluminum Alloy with 1/4″&3/8″ Screws for Digital SLR Camcorders”).
All in all, it has helped me no end when producing my scripted company product info videos.
My eyes dont wander around anymore like they used to.
Recommended.

Professional teleprompters can cost a small fortune. This is perhaps the ideal budget option. Using any teleprompter app on your tablet or smartphone, this will get the job done, and at a tiny fraction of the price of professional units. However, there are a couple things to think about before you buy this.
First, you’ll need some extra supplies. You’ll need a good high-quality tripod. This prompter isn’t terribly heavy (fortunately!) so it doesn’t need to be the most expensive one in the world, but you are going to make your tripod very top-heavy, so you’ll need a decent one. You’ll also need a tablet with a teleprompter app. Technically, you can use a smartphone, but the extra screen space you get from a tablet is really necessary. Teleprompter apps range from free to fairly expensive, but you should be able to find what you need without spending more than a few dollars. Personally, since I’m a solo operation most of the time, I also use a Bluetooth “page turner” foot pedal device (as musicians might use) to control the prompter app. And, of course, you’ll need a good camera. None of these things are included, but you probably already have most of them.
The quality of the prompter is good enough. It works perfectly, though it feels cheap in its construction, so you’ll want to be extra careful not to bend the metal parts or break the glass. Fortunately, the carrying case it comes with is very well padded, so I’ve not had any trouble there.
Most importantly, it works the way it’s supposed to. The glass is held at the proper angle to reflect the text to your eyes while keeping it invisible to your camera. Its functionality there justifies the little bit of extra effort it took to get it in working order for my particular circumstances.
And it did take a little bit of extra effort to get it to work, because there are a couple of design flaws.
First, the cloth hood you use to shield out the light obscures the bracket you use to mount your camera. There needs to be a hole in the cloth through which you can screw the camera to the prompter, but there was no such hole. This is a relatively easy fix–just a couple minutes with a pair of scissors or a utility knife will get the job done. But it should have been done by the manufacturer.
Attaching the camera is also fairly difficult. To attach it, you rest the camera on the prompter (inside the hood) and attach a screw from beneath the prompter. Lining these screws up while your vision is blocked by the hood is a nightmare, so you may want to find a way to streamline the process for yourself.
In my case (your experience will vary depending on which camera you use), my camera also rests a little too low, so the lens is always at the very bottom of my text rather than the center.
I solved both of those problems by buying a simple 1.5 inch 1/4-20 tripod extender. It raises the camera to the correct height, solving the second problem, and also provides a much easier target for the screw, solving the first problem (and decreasing my total setup time for the teleprompter from about fifteen frustrating minutes to about thirty easy seconds).
At first, I was a little disappointed by this product. I was still using it because I found it to be the closest to what I needed within my price range, but it was always frustrating to use. However, by adding a few extra accessories to it, I’ve elevated it to one of the most useful products in my kit. In that spirit, I DO highly recommend it IF you’re willing to spend a little time getting it the way you want it. I wouldn’t consider it ready to go right out of the box.

I bought a second one for my small business after using it for my main job. It’s portable, easy to use, and has streamlined a lot of my talking head work. As a point of reference it does require a really good tripod to hold the weight of the teleprompter plus the camera, but that is to be expected.

It seams good but Im returning the item as it has clearly been used before. The base has scratches on the paint and there is a thumb print on the glass.
Would happily buy second hand if it was listed as such but not when I go for new…
The Wildman –
I was pleased with the quality of the product and it was easy to assemble.
It comes with an attachment for a phone camera which was great and is easy to attach and centralize.
I have my text on a Kindle Fire and am able to use and adjust its position.
Able to use and read from teleprompter easily.
I am making videos from home for work and presentation purposes.
The teleprompter can stand alone on a flat surface or be fixed to a camera tripod.
It came with a very good case.
Quite a bit of money but very satisfied with the product.

Researched this loads before deciding on this one. I was incredibly impressed from the moment I opened the carry bag it come in. No assembly at all other than folding it out, attaching the material shield and one time attaching the rubber guards for the iPad.
Used it for the first time today and the results are excellent. Perfect video and clear words for on the glass. It’s big enough to read from a good 8-10 feet so that no one will register your eyes moving.
If I could make just 2 suggestions:
1) Make mantrap note of how it comes out of the bag and how the foam padding goes round it. If you do it goes back in perfectly and ultra safe.
2) maybe invest in a height riser of just 1.5cm as my Sony A77II sat a little low. I see one on here for £14 that I’m ordering.
Other than that, seriously amazed by the quality of this product at the price compared to next models up. Delighted!

I checked many reviews before buying and finally decided on the GlideGear TMP100. I had never had a Teleprompter before, I loved it. I received it very quickly. The case is very practical and portable and the accessories make it very complete. It comes with a cell phone holder and 2 extra screws to attach extra accessories. The materials are high quality metal and plastic. In conclusion, the TMP100 fulfills its function perfectly. I think that if it had control, it would be even more complete. I highly recommend it. Value for money 10/10

Equipo sencillo y fácil de usar. Muy práctico para el tipo de grabaciones que realizamos en la empresa, tomando en consideración que no tenemos un departamento formal de multimedios.

This teleprompter is a solidly built, professional grade tool. It was fairly intuitive in setup, and was up and operational in a short time. I found the zippers on the side of the hood to be just a tad fussy, but had them together in a short time. Now my greatest struggle is finding the best prompter software app for my tablet. I would buy this one again if I needed one.

I’m a professional freelance videographer. I decided to purchase GlideGear’s TMP100 teleprompter kit for a handful of jobs I have coming up that are going to require a small, but professional prompter setup. GlideGear fits the bill beautifully here! Affordable, portable and highly effective for its size and price point. Not wanting to invest $1,000+ in a high-end teleprompter setup that would likely not get used enough to justify it’s price, I really appreciate that GlideGear has a made an entry-level option that still looks and feels high-end. All metal construction with some quality-feeling plastic around the tightening knobs, this prompter (and the included carrying case) feel like they will more than pay for themselves over time. I paired my promoter with a small Lilliput A11 monitor & a laptop loaded with QPrompt software–works great! ✊

The TMP 100 is a great solution that flat out works.
Having used teleprompters in professional studio for over a decade I can say that I was presently surprised at how it exceeded my expectations. It meets professional standards.
The teleprompter is perfect for a home studio/portable situation.

The item works well but unexpectedly received a Duty & Tax invoice from Fed Ex for an additional £27.08 which increases the overall cost beyond my budget. Had I been advised of this I wouldn’t have puchased

just got this system and it appears to be good, have not used it so far. It has one major flaw out of the box. The mount for the mirrorless or DSLR camera does not have on open track under where the battery goes. This means you have to have a battery in the camera all the time and cannot use the constant power adapter that is an accessory for the camera where you insert a dummy battery into the camera case and connect it to an ac adapter for constant power during podcast type streaming events. I guess the work around is drilling a hole into the track large enough that makes access to the dummy battery feasible, Not sure I will go that route yet, but I might. What could also work is a mount that lifts the entire camera up about â…œ” of an Inch so the battery cable can be inserted into the dummy battery. I will let you know how I dealt with it.
Secondly, you have to be careful what lens you are using or if you use a 16mm Sigma, the lens will capture the bottom tray where the iPad sits, so the tray is in your picture frame, I moved to a 30 MM lens and that worked but the focal length does not suit me, so I will either send this back and find another or get another lens
