Too much equipment for a true begginer. Only the cámara is Cannon, the extra equipment are random makers. Cannon has tutorial in their YouTube channel on how to use the cámara but since all the other pieces in this package are not cannon, the beginner photographers like me, have not use for all of the pieces.
This product is more appropriate for a more advance photographer that knows how to use it.

This kit is a very mixed bag, and I am on the fence as to whether to send the whole kit back for a refund.

Like many of us, I have been using my phone to take pictures. They are fine and decent quality, especially for sharing on social media where the viewer is likely to be using a small screen.

Sometimes though, you want a nice picture with some high quality. I saw this EOS 4000D advertised for less than $500 and figured it was time to take a leap to something with better resolution.

    (Please see the enclosed pictures.)

This purchase is a toss up. The kit comes with a lot of nice things, and some not so useful, and some not useful at all.

On the useful side, you get: the camera itself (which is re-furbished, not even close to factory level – more on this below), a very fast and handy SD-USB device to move data from an SD drive to USB to your computer, a nice set of filters to attach to your lens, a carrying case and strap, and a nice, fast SD card.

On the not so useful side, you get: a rickety full sized tripod, a limited wide-angle lens, a 2x “telephoto” lens, and sun shield for your camera.

On the not useful side you get a flash module that has no connection with the camera and a table-top tripod incapable of actually holding up the camera and lens assembly.

Finally, the kit does not come with a USB cable to that will allow you to attached the camera to your computer. That is important, because you will need to update the bios once you get this kit.

(You will also have to register the camera and download all the software for it yourself.

Onto the camera itself. The camera uses a 18 Mega-pixel sensor; this is early 2010 technology. You can see from the included picture of the dice taken with the camera that the auto-focus does not focus that well. Also, the live review function (the back-panel is supposed to be able to show you the picture in-frame before snapping the picture, does not function on this camera), and there is a loud clunking from inside the camera when you take a picture – it sounds like the original camera was dropped, damaged, and returned.

I’m torn as to whether to send it back or not.

The one feature that I have not tried yet is the connection to a smart phone. If I can get a picture on a smart phone and then remotely take a picture, it might make up for some of the other substantial shortfalls.

    Let the buyer beware.

This is just a well thought kit that even an expert would love. Well worth the investment.
