I bought this to raise my laser level (the things that project laser lines perfectly horizontally to a wall) to a hight, where you can actually hang up pictures and such (the usual ones are just to low, around 1,4m).
This tripod / stand comes with a screw top and the laser levels all work perfectly with it.

    A bargain!

Physically the quality is good, but this is for ligjt item to carry, Although i did not use it when i open the box, because i knew it cannot carry my lighting beyong 4 feet, it needs sand bags to make it sturdy..

The height was for low installation. Beyong 3 feet it is kinda risky with you light fixtures.

Bought this as it would hold my laser level at a far greater height than the camera tripod I already owned. As a handy man I’m regularly asked to put up TV brackets, pictures, mirrors and curtain tracks/poles etc.

With the latter they are obviously a good bit higher so needed something to hold my laser level at the relevant height. At its maximum height the beam was at 2.25m (approx 7′ 6″ in old money). That coincidentally was the height of the top of my curtains so would have been higher than the top fixing hole of the brackets

Maybe not the most robust item but only need to avoid flinging it in my van and dropping other tools and boxes on it and it should be OK

    A good purchase

These are great for mounting speed lights but I wouldn’t trust it holding anything much larger. These are very light (great for travel) but anything bigger than a godox ad200 size light would be risky.

These were a great replacement for the tripods that came with a video kit I had previously purchased. They fit great with my LED Apurture panels and seem sturdier with the clips used to lock the height. Can’t hold really heavy lights so be aware of thr weight of your lights when purchasing.

I feel it’s important to manage expectations with this. If you’re buying a £14 light stand and expecting £200 light stand quality, you’re an idiot.
That being said, for £14, it’s a great budget buy. It is lightweight, comes with a bag and does the job. Extended to its max with a Neewer led light on it, it seems like it wouldn’t take much of a bump to knock it over, but that’s at its maximum height. The play in the shafts and locking mechanisms are minimal, and although the base is a tad finicky to extend out.. for £14, I’ll take that any day. I won’t hesitate to buy another one as I expand my lighting.

I used these to hold my base units for the valve index, they fit on fine but you have no tilt so i purchased some cheap addons to attach to give a tilt and swivel rather than being static only.

that said even without the tilt they worked fine as stands for the base units and can work without the tilt/swivel addon i purchased.

they can also go upto at least 7ft6 in height with the loss of some stability (only would be an issue in windy conditions or with lots of weight/greater chance of being knocked) if the 2.13m is just too short for you then there is defiently room for increased height but the higher you go the higher the support bars go so the less stable it will be (see picture two which would make it 7ft6 in height). if your putting expensive or heavy equpiment on i would not recommend doing that but for my situation it was fine and worked perfect, i have no issues.

I’m setting up a three-point-lighting configuration and one of the lights did not come with a stand, so I picked this one. I’m happy with it.

Ordered a light stand for a new studio flash and this does the job well.
Lightweight but strong, easy and simple to handle and setup and comes with a carrying case.

The problem I have is, I bought a brand new one but what I received was definitely not new! The case was delivered stained and dirty! So it’s either a return after someone spilled coffee on it or there’s some dodgy gangbanging going on in the Amazon warehouse!

Loses 1 star for Amazon’s warehouse handling, otherwise a great light stand.
