I actually bought one of these cameras a couple months ago and liked it so much that I bought another one. I can almost rotate these things 360 degrees which amazing. They also track people(humans) when it detects them, but it doesn’t track vehicles. They have a super wide angle so you can get a lot ground covered with just one. With all the good things, there are a couple of short comings. The cloud service is kind of expensive. You can put a micro sd card which is a big plus cause this keeps your recordings until the its full and then starts to overwrite them when it needs more space. Its basically like having the cloud edge storage because it does the same things.
I almost purchased the cloud storage but decided I would try the sd card first and I’ve been more than satisfied with it. The night vision is amazing. My cameras are probably over 50 feet from the road and with the sensitivity on high. They will go off every time a car passes.
Another bad thing, but is actually a good thing is that I can’t filter the alerts more. The things will literally go off a million times when its foggy or raining. Its freaking annoying and I won’t turn the alerts off because what if it is something that I need to see. With all that said. I’ve been thinking of buying one more for my back yard because I have a set of Arlo wifi cameras but I hate them because of the delayed alert or no alert. Wifi based cameras piss me off because they never seem to capture what you need them to! Which is why I bought these and they catch everything! I caught mine when they had a sale at 24.99 and they have literally been worth every penny.

I bought this with high hopes.
I will say that the description of 360° is a bit deceiving. Although you can move it 360° it doesn’t record in 360°. I was under the impression that when it caught something on record, the camera would follow the subject but it doesn’t so whatever position you have the camera in, that’s the only place it records. The camera does not follow what’s being caught on camera at all. Now if you are looking at live view, you can pan the camera anywhere you want but that’s the only time you will get to use the 360° feature which is very disappointing.
You have to pay for monthly service if you don’t have wifi which the lowest one is all I need and it’s only 14.99 a month but you also have to pay for storage which only saves on a option of 7 days or 30 days so if you need to keep a recording for any reason, I just turn on my phones screen recorder and record the recording and save it to my phone for long term keep.
Also, here in Georgia, our weather has been crazy with rain along with fog and nothing but clouds for sometimes a week at a time. I have had to manually charge the camera with a charger twice. The charge lasts for over a week but the solar panel can’t charge the camera when the sun decides to deprive us of it’s presence. I just ran a outside extention cord and plugged the charger in that comes with it and charge it right where it is stabilized. Works great and it’s quicker than taking the whole device down.
When I first got it, the playback on videos was fast and panning the camera to look around worked well but as time has gone on, panning the camera has been slow and studdaring so bad that it will end up being in a crazy position after it does decide to move. I’m not sure if it is a service issue, camera issue or app issue…either way, it’s annoying.
Anytime I want updated live view in the app, I have to go into the app, hit on the video then go back out of the app then go back in the app.
The camera itself is wonderful hence the 3 stars. The clarity is wonderful in all weather. The only time you will have a issue is when there is dense fog which has only happened twice as we don’t get much fog here but when we did, when I went to view the camera, being it’s winter, I literally thought it was snowing outside because that’s exactly what it looked like on camera. I went running outside thinking there was a blizzard hitting that I was unaware of ???? ???? ???? and felt like a jack ass when I seen all the fog. I walked back inside feeling foolishly stupid and went back to viewing the camera and just had to laugh at myself. Needless to say fog will kill the whole operation of your camera but any other type of element, it works absolutely wonderful and the viewing is unaffected. Night vision without the light is awesome but the light option is great quality as well. I was surprised at the distance it picks motion up. It says 18 feet but this one starts recording motion at greater distance and that is a feature that I really like and a huge plus in my book.
The actual quality of both the camera and the solar panel are great. It hasn’t shown any signs of being weathered the the weather so to speak.
The camera and solar panel is made with care and quality. If you have your own wifi, maybe the glitches won’t be a issue. Maybe the app just has bugs and glitches. I can’t get wifi where I live so I guess I’ll never know.
If I were to rate the quality of the camera and solar panel by itself, it would be 4 stars and would be 5 stars if the camera panned/ followed the subject it was recording. Otherwise the 360° option is useless unless you just want to play with the panning in live view. In anycase, camera and the solar panel coupled with the slow service and app glitches I gave it 3 stars. If the company coupled with better services and updated the app, all the way around, I would give 4 and again 5 stars if the 360° wasn’t misleading. If you have your own fast wifi, it will work great but the app itself will still have issues. I have the newest android made right now which is the Android 21plus through sprint who is now unfortunately T-mobile but still I know it’s the app and service and not my phone. Clearing out the apps cache with update still won’t fix the slowness of service and glitches in the app.

UPDATE: I am updating my review because of the excellent customer service I have received from the manufacture. As I said in my previous review the camera takes excellent videos and photos. It was very easy to set up and get running. After set-up you can set it to alert for movement and record a 1or 2 minute video. What is also great is that you can go onto the app and see what your camera is looking at and set up “alert areas” or where exactly you want the camera to alert within its field of view. Very sophisticated. However, I think this function needs to be fine tuned because sometimes the camera will alert at cars on my street even though that area is not set up to alert within the camera’s field of view. This is actually a small inconvenience as it doesn’t do it all the time. Also, I have noticed that with even the video record and alerts set to off, it will sometimes give an alert and record anyway. Again, this is not a real big problem, but I feel EbitCam should look into this and maybe update their software so this won’t happen. But overall this cam does exactly what I want it to do as to alerting me when someone is near my home and I have to say with all the little caveats I am very very satisfied with this camera. Its price point is great and it actually does what the company advertises. I am glad I purchased this camera.
Now…EbitCam’s customer service. It is the best customer service I have ever dealt with when purchasing a product from Amazon. Once they saw my first review on Amazon they immediately contacted me through email. They genuinely seemed concerned and really wanted to help. Even though some of my problems were legitimate, a lot of my “problems” I had were actually were not actual problems at all…it was my lack of knowledge. When I first started the email chain with them, they sent me a brand new camera without hesitation. Wow! After installing the new camera I they communicated with me almost daily wanting to help in anyway they could. They were very patient and caring. They walked me thru each step and then followed up the next day to see how it went. After all was said and done and I accumulated the knowledge I needed, my camera works great and I have a greater understanding of the intricacies of working this camera….not that it is hard to use….but they gave me the knowledge and a better understanding. Bravo to EbitCam’s customer service!!
In summary…..is this camera perfect..?…No, but what camera is? But it does the job that I need it to do and I think you cannot go wrong purchasing this camera. It has been working flawlessly since installed. My suggestions to EbitCam is to update the software so that the camera won’t sometimes sporadically record when not asked to and maybe re-do the operation manual to better explain to the customer the operation of the camera. Other than that I whole heartedly recommend this video camera for people to purchase. It is dependable, rock solid, and records excellently.
I have updated my review from 3 stars to 5 stars today. If I could give two ratings; one I would give 4.5 stars, because of the flaw in recording only sometimes when it is not supposed to, but EbitCam’s customer service I would give 10 stars!
