I see a couple reviews where people call this stand lightweight and low quality – I honestly wonder if they ordered some other product? This C stand is one of the beefiest things I own, and I just ordered a second one. The base telescopes to well over 10 feet – maybe 12 or 13 feet tall. That’s not including the arm which could be extended even higher to 15 feet or more – I’m not sure what you want to do this for (we’re contemplating rescuing a stuffed Elmo doll from a ledge high above my vaulted foyer with the stand and I once needed a VERY long pole to retrieve a drone from a tree. Or maybe you could attach it to your Delorean with a copper hook to catch that power cable suspended above Main Street.) Anyway, back to the matter at hand – as it stands (ha!) this thing is very heavy and the hardware is sturdy and does not loosen over time. I love the sound of slotting the main mast into the base – a sort of machined metal ‘ZIP’. The bag is great so far and I toss a few extra things into it like tape and a roll of paper for blacking out windows and such. I bought some extra sandbags in preparation for this stand I have not needed them at all – suspending an LED panel light above a standing subject was not enough to make this stand unstable. If I really stretched to find some negatives, it would be that the foam handle part slides fairly easily up and down (but who cares?) and the plastic clips are useful but they don’t really attach snugly to the supplied arm – they are larger than the arm so they slide back and forth so you can either clamp, say, a light diffuser directly to the arm, catching it between the clamp teeth and the arm, or get the fancy c stand clamps that actually affix to the arm and then tighten down on whatever thing. Or maybe stick a piece of cloth in the gap and that might snug it up. That’s about it. This C stand rocks. It’s a good deal for how many uses on of these has. The bag works well, looks pro, and holds extra stuff.
Edit: My second stand is just as great as the first. The bag for the second stand arrived with a hole in the corner. I’m shopping now for a solution for carrying both stands securely.

It’s not terrible. But it’s not great. As some have mentioned before, this is a heavy duty stand that’s made to look like and labelled as a C-Stand. The large leg doesn’t slide up and down as an actual c-stand would allow you to do. Good addition to the studio.

Cheaply made.
CAUTION – If you have a heavier light at the end of the pole, it will drip down and possibly completely fall down
There was also excess oil on the boom arm when I first opened it. It was not a pleasant smell. I still ended up keeping it to be used to hold my audio boom pole.
I would not trust to put anything heavy or expensive on it.

Not gonna lie, I went back and forth on this based on the reviews. This is completely unsponsored, non paid, straight up testimony. Dollar for dollar this may be the best purchase I’ve made in my photography career. It’s bulletproof solid when it comes to construction. Both vertical extendor sections are spring loaded making it easy to get upward momentum on a heavy continuous light to get it up to where you want it. The base, when aligned properly, will handle anything you can mount on it. This piece is rock solid, easy to manipulate, and the black finish is SEXY!! I’m definitely ordering another, and It’s on special right now so I might order 2 more!

I’m in video and photography production and LOVE this C-Stand! I own a lot of equipment, and have several other c-stands, but this one is the best. Great quality, strong build, reliable construct, and easy to set up and take down. Highly recommended product!

I needed to create a rig for my YouTube studio for getting those sick overhead shots for my unboxing videos. I did a ton of research on C-Stands and I kept coming back to the Lomtap C-Stand. With everything you get in the kit and at that price, this was a must-have for my studio. The carrying case is really rugged and not cheap. The stand is made of really high-quality stainless steel and it feels very sturdy. Even the grip heads just feel so well made. The foam on the main bar is great because even with gear attached to the C-stand you can easily move the stand around your studio. There are just so many ways you can use this to mount cameras, monitors, lights, and microphones. I would highly recommend this C-stand for those who are in the market for adding a very nice stand for the money.

Using this for overhead rim light on a 200w strobe and it’s perfect! This C-Stand is so solid with no worries of falling over. I do add my real sandbags for extra security. The C-Stand itself is a very solid structure. Spring loaded lifting slides. Durable carrying bag, and easy up and down. For the going price of C-Stands, you really can’t beat this one! Amazing for the price. Totally recommend this stand and would purchase again 10 times over!

My favorite color is black. Plus the C stand works awesome…

I was pleasantly impressed by the build quality of this stand. I’m so happy I didn’t spend 2x more for a “well-known” brand name. Sometimes you just gotta take a chance. This is the one.

When I first opened the bag it was so beautiful. It was absolutely beautiful to see. It looked much more sturdier than I anticipated. Its actually pretty heavy too, not lightweight at all. I usually wait until I use the product a few times to give a review but I wanted to say before I forgot. The boom bar came with a slight curve, this isnt one of the shafts I expect to have a curve but it’s only slight so I’ll let it slide.

Bought this stand about a year ago, it’s great! The carrying bag however – not great. It ripped on one end on day 1. It’s not good quality, the stand just about fits in it. They could have made it a bit longer and better padded, the stand is heavy.

It’s a nice stand I’m using it as overhead camera rig
