Neewer gear makes up most of the photography equipment I own and they never disappoint. They make quality stuff and this light stand is no exception. It’s built solid and does exactly what it is supposed to—hold a low-angle light and wheel around. I did some quick tests with this stand and it holds a light and a large softbox sturdy and didn’t fall over or even seem to wobble. It’s sturdy.
Michael Nelson –
The best most sturdy light stand I am purchased in the last 25 years. Wheels though small are amazingly high quality. I wish all light stands were this sturdy. I highly recommend this item.

I wish it was little taller. I’m sure I could buy and extension for it, but as it stands, it’s only about 2 feet off the ground, which isn’t QUITE what I need. This isn’t a flaw, they advertise the height, just an inconvenience.
The rest is great. The parts are high quality and sturdy. The wheels lock how I want them too and it distributes weight well across its legs. It rolls very well, but not particularly in a circle. I’ve found it easier to loosen the connection than to try and rotate it with the wheels. It’s not a big deal though, the screws all feel intentionally made and solidly constructed.

The Neewer Heavy Duty light stand is a fantastic light stand for its purpose… low-angle lighting (or possibly recording). It is easy to set-up and easy to move.
Notes-
– Very sturdy even under a significant weight
– The casters allow the lights to move with ease
– To be used for low angle lighting (basically having a stand for the lights to angle upward to the subject).
– Limited height – even when extended fully it is still less than 3 feet tall
Final Verdict – another excellent product by Neewer. An excellent light stand if you need something with limited height.

You have to install the casters yourself.
It can raise to about 2.3 feet, so it’s not really for overhead, or it goes lower.
Max load is 22 lbs. It’s advertised for flashes, studio lights, etc.
Neewer is a budget brand

This surprised me with its weight; it’s pretty solid. The arms fold with strong spring-clips to lock into place, and the pole itself is solid too. Very easy to assemble and fold.
Mine came with the pole holder in the wrong place, so the thumbscrew could not be moved. Two minute job to loosen the holder (needs an Allen key), turn it to right position and re-tighten. Minor irritation on a good piece of kit.

ITEM: NEEWER Heavy Duty Light Stand with Casters, 2.4ft Max Height
PRICE: $52.00 (eff 09 10 22)
Through near weekly use, I am well familiar with these heavier weighted and ‘wheel-able’ stands. I have a small number of them I keep in the garage for outdoor video and photo work. This particular roller-stand, as noted by the vendor and mentioned by others, is only about 2-1/2 feet high fully extended. But for both low positioned lighting and also cameras where I want to set up for ‘flat field’ imaging at a lower level and require a stable yet movable tripod-type stand, this is the ticket. Having been in and around photography my entire adult life, I appreciate having a well-stocked ‘toolbox’ of tripods, stands and adapters for mechanical and electrical applications. The Neewer low-center of gravity HD light stand joins my inventory of that ‘solution hardware.’ And I’ll add that I found the price to be reasonable too.

I’m really excited about this light stand! It’s perfect for low-angle tabletop shooting and photography. The height is adjustable, so you can get the perfect shot every time. It’s also foldable, so it’s easy to transport and store. The casters make it easy to move around, and the heavy-duty construction ensures that your equipment is safe and secure. This is a must-have for any photographer!

For some reason i expected it to be taller, its about 3 feet. so it’s probably best used for a rim light. But that aside it is very well built. The locking mechanisim for the legs is sturdy and easy to use. It is built like a tank, the wheels roll very smoothly, so smooth it could even be used as a camera dolly. If it was another foot taller it would definetly be 5 stars.

I’ve been really happy with this heavy duty light stand from Neewer. It’s well made and very easy to initially assemble, and then to fold up and store away. Heavy duty is absolutely right as advertised. This has a surprising weight and heft to it, built like a tank and something I have no concerns about failing over time. The included wheels are similarly well made and very smooth and surprisingly sizeable. I appreciate that this has a standard tripod screw on top of the typical clamp style attachment point for lights, offering both mounting options for you. This is really great if you have a studio set up where you need to be able to quickly move your lights around without worrying having to lift them and potentially hit things on the ceiling or above you. While this certainly isn’t cheap, this feels well worth the price for the quality and versatility. 100% would recommend!

The media could not be loaded.
It really does have a nice heavy duty base, the wheels are also smooth and rubber not plastic.
The adapter can support those cheap put on a pole and tighten light heads but also has 2 different tripod thread heads as well.
The base is held in place by spring loaded heavy pins and on my unit had 0 jiggle but where still easy to pull back for easy folding.
This is also slim enough to add to a bigger photography or tripod bag as an extra tool.
It is fairly low but great for dolly shots on the ultra cheap or smokthly following a camera with a low angle light, mic or other tool.
Because it’s a lower pole the base footprint is also smaller tha. The big cheap 7 feet light poles so you might be able to get your lights in a tighter spot than usual.
Steve Durbin –

I was amused when I saw this. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a “mini-roller” base in all my years at this.
It is a miniature version of a standard roller base with riser, which extends to nearly two feet . . . supposedly for a backlight or set light. The riser can be removed for extra low mounting of any fixture you have in mind.
It is quite well finished, has a couple of sore spots, but on the whole it is a good piece of equipment. It is made of steel (all of it’s bigger brethren are always steel), so it is fairly heavy. The riser which is quite short, is aluminum.
I wish that the base was a standard junior, i.e. 1 1/8″ receiver, as that would allow using a slightly longer riser if you so choose. Unfortunately, it is a baby (5/8″), the same as the mounting stud (weird) . . . so no go. A pity.
The column extends easily and is topped by, as mentioned a 5/8″ receiver and you get a chromed pin (male) . . . which should be brass. Polished chrome is a no-no . . . it slips. The top of the riser will accept the pin either vertically or horizontally. If you eventually find you don’t or can’t tolerate the chrome stud, brass is readily available from Manfrotto, Matthews, etc.
The base is solid and appears well made. Legs fold . . . to either open or close, you pull outwards on a pin that extends through the leg and out both sides . . . slipping into either a notch for open, or closed. The pin is spring loaded, and though I doubt they planned it this way, is not anywhere as solid as an Avenger or Matthews base . . . which oddly enough, is a good thing . . . I don’t know how many times I have pinched my finger(s) on those . . . and it really hurts . . . for days. When the legs are folded, the stand will stand upright, thus making it a little more compact to keep out of the way when it is not being used.
The wheels are small and have brakes. I don’t like the wheels much as they don’t appear very solid, and the underside where the bearings roll is open and exposed . . . enough to gather dirt and grit . . . too small of an opening to get at them for maintenance.
It is pretty good for it’s price. The only real shortcoming (for me at least) being the receiver in the base . . . I am actually thinking of giving mine to a machine shop and have them drill it out to accept a junior pin (1 1/8″). I know that putting a longer riser is risky, but using a short one, still a bit longer than what comes with this would not be a problem . . . especially if you added sandbags.
It’s a nice little stand. Specialized, yes, but I am sure that anyone who buys it will find more and more uses for it on a daily basis. Solid roller stands are fabulous, and this little guy kind of fits right in there.
