I received the Teleprompter within the stated time period in good condition. After a little fiddling I managed to get it all setup, and it all seems to work well apart from the remote control which does not seem to work. I have tried changing the battery but there is no power light workign on it and it will not pair with the phone.
I would be happy for some money back from the seller or a replacement remote.

I love this prompter, it’s the second I’ve purchased. First ultimately broke, but I don’t think that was a flaw with the product, just rough handling. This has been great to have all the adapters together in one package. I had to use a different lens because the first showed the edges of the prompter in the shot. Didn’t have to worry about it, though, because I had all the adapters.

I like a simple solution, and this does the job beautifully.

After starting my YouTube channel, I was frustrated at how my takes were so time-consuming due to the need to quickly memorize the content and spit it out quickly in front of the camera. I knew a teleprompter was the answer, but you were looking at $200 for the cheapest option, and they were large, which for someone who does a lot of recording outdoors was almost a non-starter.

I found the old Kickstarter for this device, and after reading a couple of reviews decided it was worth a swing. After a single use I was convinced that this was an amazing innovation and worth every penny I spent.

You get the plastic frame with the reflective glass, a Bluetooth remote to control the app, and the full set of screw-on adapters, which you had to originally purchase separately when the device came out. You screw the appropriate adapter onto your lens, slide the cover onto the adapter, then affix your phone to the bottom with the spring plate, and use the remote to control the text in the free app. The app is pretty easy to use, and with Dropbox integration you can write your scripts and use them without any awkward file transfers.

There’s only two tiny quibbles worth noting:

    (1) The spring plate that clamps the phone doesn’t have a handhold, so you’re grabbing the entire plate and trying to attach the phone at the same time. With an iPhone X in an Otterbox, it sometimes feels a bit awkward to do and I’m scared the plastic might break.

    (2) Be aware of your zoom settings on your lens, as if you’re going really wide (Like less than 24mm), you might catch the edges of the frame in your video. I noticed it with my 18-55mm kit lens, so I assume some wide-angle primes and zoom lenses might run into this issue. Just make sure of it before you shoot a take and you’re good to go!

    Why I didn’t buy this sooner, I’ll never know…

But if you make videos and always fumble on your words, or just want to get your message out quickly and smoothly, this is for you!

Fit onto my 40.5mm stock sony a6300 lens (16-50mm), bad point was that it did not state in the package online that it had this filter size so I went to buy one.. now I have 2, DO NOTE it has a 40.5mm filter! But good surprise I guess.

App was super easy to use, once adjusted to your liking and pasting all the words you need, its just a matter of setting the speed I found to the slowest, and then taking your time to read.

Eye shifting was 99% non existent (Thats why you have to adjust and make the words fit close to the centre and practice reading straight, I’m going to make a video review soon about this)

This has saved me tons of time and will in the future too, especially for client shoots.

Thanks Parrot! I really am like a parrot now repeating words, but so much more clearly, faster, and more confident

This item was working amazing but they just did an update on the app and now it’s wonky, the toggle is all off and you can’t go back with the remote like you could before if it went to fast. It just freezes up if you try to go back every time and will not start again.

I have another teleprompter setup that I’ve used for several years and I was a little skeptical when I heard someone reference this product in a YouTube video. Thought I’d take a chance on this and boy, am I impressed. Everything they say it is and more. The ease of use is its biggest selling point. I have my camera (Panasonic Lumix FZ-300) tripod mounted and no problem with balance/tipping. I prefer to do video work without wearing my glasses (glare, etc) and was concerned that a small unit like this would have to be so close that viewers could tell that I am reading. To my surprise it isn’t an issue at all.

This unit was promptly shipped and well packaged. At this price point it’s a great buy and a quality product. I’m very pleased and definitely recommend it.

I just started doing videos for YouTube and if you’re like me, its difficult to remember what I want to say, so I do a lot of takes-which in turn takes a lot of time. This product is a game changer for me! Once I downloaded the Parrot app onto my phone, I was able to download my script and away I went. Saves me a ton of time!

    affordable, lightweight, teleprompter.
comes with the padcaster remote, which i thought wasn’t working as i could not turn on the remote.
found out i need to long press the on/off button, to “turn it on”
very impressive, simple teleprompter, unfortunately its not for big devices, so it is what it is advertised.. and its for smart phones only.

update: after frequent usage, phone holder could not hold the weight of iphone 11 anymore, the “spring” that uses to hold the iphone at the edge starts to lose grip after awhile

This is my second teleprompter. My first one was two big which blocked my video flip screen and made it VERY obvious that I was reading a teleprompter. I use this with a $20 PromptSmart Pro app which runs my script based on how quickly I am talking – as it syncs my voice with the script. For that reason, I don’t use the remote, but it’s nice to have! Cannot believe the price on this. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It doesn’t work with my sigma art 24 mm!! That’s crazy as this is such a popular lense. Also, apparently doesnt fit the Sigma 16mm either. Just saw that in the reviews. This is such a disappoint as this $400+ product is basically useless for me now.

I just started using my Parrot Teleprompter, so some of my issues may go away with familiarity.

On the up side, it is easy to put together, with well written instructions. It works pretty much as described. As a nice bonus, the description here says the device works with cameras with filter diameters >49mm, but there was also an adapter for 37mm, which I may find useful with an older camcorder.

On the down side, the remote control is useless. It connected smoothly through Bluetooth to my iPhone, but never worked properly. For example, pressing the “play” button (which is meant to activate the script you are running at that time) resulted not in playing the script but in playing my iTunes library. That happened repeatedly, until I gave up trying to solve the problem. Unfortunately, without remote capability, I had to rely on the phone app which is bare bones and awkward to use in conjunction with taping.

Bottom line, it works. I’ll use it. And if I can get the remote to behave properly, I’d say it was a great purchase. For now, I’ll call it a “good” one and hope to solve the problems.
